Description	In December 1995 a local consortium receiving technical assistance from Northumbrian Water won a 30 year concession for the potable water supply and sewage collection and treatment in Formosa and Clorinda, Argentina. At the time the province of Formosa was the poorest in Argentina. The concession covered a population of 185,000, of which 77% were connected to the water supply, and 41% has a sewage connection. In 1995 the consortium holding the concession contract was made up of local companies Laboratorios Phoenix, Simali and Sagua International. Northumbrian Water withdrew from the contract in 1997. The consortium planned to invest US$ 11 million in the first five years. The investment was partly financed through a PRONAPAC loan of US$ 5 million. None None
