Description | In October 2014, the Brazilian company EMBRACE - Empresa Brasil Central Engenharia Ltda (49%) and Nascente do Xingu (51%), a subsidiary of AEGEA Saneamento e Participações (Grupo Equipav), were awarded the 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage facilities of Paranatinga, located at the state of Mato Grosso. The contract was awarded by the municipality, and the investments were expected to benefit around 20,383 people. Information on the bidding criteria and on the names of other bidders was not available. The contract was signed in March 2015, and the private sponsor took over the operations of the water and sewerage services in May 2015. The special purpose company Aguas de Paranatinga was set to lead the project. The total investment in the project was estimated at US$ 12.4 million (BRL 37 million). |
