AI Infrastructure Project on Tribal Land in California

planned

Colusa Indian Energy, a power company owned by the Colusa Indian Community, is partnering with developer Strata Expanse to build an AI infrastructure project on land belonging to the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians in California's Sacramento River Valley. The project will start with leasing several acres of land, with plans to expand to over 100 acres within 18 months. The initial site will be used for testing chips, cooling systems, and networking tools, eventually supporting a large data center campus. The partnership aims to diversify the tribal economy, create jobs, and generate utility sales and revenue share from the data center.
