Description | Air Liquide has reached a major construction milestone at its flagship 200MW ELYgator green hydrogen project in the Port of Rotterdam after the first PEM electrolyser arrays were delivered and installed at the site. The project is expected to produce approximately 23,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually by 2027, avoiding up to 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year by replacing fossil-based hydrogen. The hydrogen produced will primarily supply TotalEnergies' industrial platform and refinery operations through Air Liquide's existing hydrogen pipeline network. The project is supported by around €340 million in Dutch subsidies and is a flagship initiative demonstrating Air Liquide's ability to scale industrial hydrogen technologies. |
