Description | The Aishbagh Rail Over Bridge railway viaduct in Bhopal, India, was a $2.3 million project intended to connect three important areas of the city and reduce traffic problems for around 300,000 people. After a decade of construction, the bridge featured an extremely sharp curve, initially described as close to a 90-degree angle but later measured at 118 degrees. The project faced national criticism and safety concerns due to the sharp curve and lack of a smooth transition between the straight section and the curve, leading to the suspension of seven engineers from the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department. |
