The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline is a 614km-long pipeline which represents phase one of the 1,300km-long Trans-Nigerian Gas Pipeline (TNGP) project. Description | The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline is a 614km-long pipeline which represents phase one of the 1,300km-long Trans-Nigerian Gas Pipeline (TNGP) project. The TNGP project also forms part of the proposed Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP). The project will be delivered through a Build and Transfer (BT) PPP model with 100% Contractor Financing. The sponsors include OilServ, Oando and Brentex/China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau. The total project cost was budgeted at US$2.6 billion. China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) agreed to provide loan of $2.2 billion. The state-owned NNPC will provide additional $ 400 million. Construction started in July 2020.
