Aklavik Expansion of Solid Waste Site

The project consists of expanding Aklavik’s 175 m x 95 m solid waste site. The project scope consists of adding 175 m of solid waste berms to increase capacity to house solid waste and diverted recyclable materials. The project will result in an increased capacity to divert and manage waste and recyclable material, as well as preventing land contamination. The volume of materials diverted is expected to increase from 0.0 to 50 tonnes/year and the capacity to dispose of materials is expected to increase from 100 to 9,000 tonnes/year.
