Aktau Container Terminal Expansion

completed

A new container terminal has been put into operation at the Port of Aktau in the Caspian Sea as part of Kazakhstan's transport and logistics infrastructure expansion. The project aims to increase the capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), improve container cargo handling efficiency, expand the port's throughput capacity, and support Kazakhstan’s position in transit routes between Asia and Europe. The first phase included the construction of a container yard equipped with handling machinery, including two container gantry cranes, terminal management hardware, and cargo flow control systems, increasing the port's annual container handling capacity to 140,000 TEU.
