Description | The Akwa Ibom Fertiliser Complex is a $1.5 billion project planned for Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It is a joint venture between the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and OCP Africa, a subsidiary of Morocco's OCP Group. The complex is designed to produce ammonia for export to Morocco and manufacture DAP and NPK fertilisers for Nigeria's domestic demand, aiming to reduce reliance on imported fertilisers and conserve foreign exchange. The project is expected to create approximately 500 direct jobs and 20,000 indirect jobs during construction and operation phases. |
