The project involves the expansion of Al Badiya Solar PV Plant with additional 11 MW of capacity, including 12 MWh of battery storage capacity. Al Badiya Power Generation is the project company that is developing the project on behalf of the sole sponsor - Philadelphia Solar. This is a brownfield project initiated under a Build Rehabilitate Operate and Transfer basis. The project contract was sourced on a license scheme. Al Badiya Power Generation has a 20-year PPA with electric power distribution company Irbid District Electricity Company. The total cost of the expansion project (Phase II) is $ 12 million. The project was reported to be financed by Capital Bank. Financial close occurred on May 18, 2018.
