Description
Description | "The project comprises the construction of Alabat wind farm in Quezon province, the Philippines. The sponsor is Alternergy Holdings Corp. and the project company is Alabat Wind Power Corp. (AWPC). The construction of the facility started on May 9th, 2024, targeted to be completed by November 2024. The project has been awarded to the sponsor in the frame of Green Energy Auction 2 and in March 2024 it secured its connection to the national grid — AWPC and the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) signed the Interconnection Agreement (ICA) for the project. The total capacity of the farm is 64MW. The total cost is planned to be $122m (or P7billion), as the sponsor has obtained a $90.5-m (PHP-5.3-billion) project finance facility to help fund the construction by Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. The project financing is part of Alternergy’s capital raising under the Green Finance Framework. The company aims to close a portfolio of 500 MW by 2026. China’s Envision Energy will supply the turbines, while China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co Ltd (GEDI) has been awarded the construction contract. Danish consulting firm K2 Management is the project’s owner’s engineer." https://www.alternergy.com/post/awpc-starts-p7-b-alabat-wind-project ; https://renewablesnow.com/news/philippines-alternergy-secures-financing-for-64-mw-wind-project-860706/ ; https://doe.gov.ph/sites/default/files/pdf/renewable_energy/awarded_wind_2023-09-30.pdf https://www.alternergy.com/post/awpc-starts-p7-b-alabat-wind-project ; https://renewablesnow.com/news/philippines-alternergy-secures-financing-for-64-mw-wind-project-860706/ ; https://doe.gov.ph/sites/default/files/pdf/renewable_energy/awarded_wind_2023-09-30.pdf |
