Description

Description

The landowner rested and seeded grazing fields to allow grasses to recover and continues to manage grazing for better forage production and erosion control. New cross-fencing was installed to better segregate fields and provide improved livestock management options, including exclusion of animals from targeted riparian areas, while also preventing free range livestock from entering the landowner’s property. Vegetation cover and composition have been monitored, and permanent photograph monitoring points have been established. The NRCS Rangeland Hydrology Erosion Model (RHEM) demonstrates the relative change in overall erosion before and after implementation of conservation practices.
