The project includes a gas treatment plant on the North Slope and a liquefaction facility on the Kenai Peninsula, with a roughly 40-mile spur line to deliver gas to Fairbanks. The legislation under consideration involves a new tax regime to support the project, including an alternative volumetric tax replacing the state property tax, and requires construction to begin by 2032. |
