Alaska LNG Project

Glenfarne has signed a definitive agreement with Korean energy and steel company Posco to partner on development of the Alaska LNG project. The partnership includes a significant portion of the steel required for Alaska LNG’s 807-mile, 42-inch pressurised natural gas pipeline provided by Posco and a 20-year heads of agreement for 1m tonne of LNG offtakes per year on a free-on-board basis. Glenfarne is developing Alaska LNG in two financially independent phases: Phase One comprises the pipeline to transport gas from Alaska’s North Slope to meet domestic energy needs, with final engineering and cost analysis expected in December and final investment decision to follow. Phase Two will add the LNG terminal and related infrastructure to enable 20m tonnes of LNG exports per year, with FID expected in late 2026.
