Description | Alaugas is a regional gas distributor for Almaty with charter capital of Tenge 12,420,000. Shareholders are the Kazakh State (51%), employees (10%), Munaigas-Invest (10%), Rost-Fond-Kramds (15.2%), Ipf-"Yntymak" (8.7%), Alaugas (5%) and Seimar-Invest (0.1%). All private stakes were acquired via coupon auctions in 1994 and 1996 in which the government raised divestiture revenues for US$20,000 (Tenge 1.08 million). As of 2000, KazTransGaz (KTG), a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, Kazakstan's national oil and gas company, was set up to maintain, manage and operate the entire gas distribution network in Kazakhstan. Consequently, there were no private sponsors that owned or managed the gas distribution network, since KTG was the sole owner of the network.
