Description
Description | "Ecosystem degradation and biodiversity loss is present in the global scale as well as in Europe. This problem is present also in Albania, as it is clearly stated in the 2021 Communication on EU Enlargement Policy, ""there is still work to do related the Protected Areas management, protection and restoration"". Considering this result and the importance of Albania’s Integration to the EU, our contribution will consist in the encouragement and support of EU studies, focusing to the European Green Deal. Our team proposes to establish the Module “Albanian Protected Areas in the frame of EU Integration”, which will be implemented by the Faculty of History and Philology (FHF), UT and will involve around 270 master students in three years. This proposal fosters the development of a multidisciplinary course and will be divided into four parts (Environmental, Social, Economic, GIS/RS), where each of them will focus and introduce the participants with the EU directives and best models for sustainable management of Protected Areas (PAs). The teaching will also include 9 seminars and 3 summer schools. A conference with around 70 participants will be organized to disseminate the main findings and results of the Module. Main objectives are: 1.Equip students with multidisciplinary tools and knowledge to analyze the relation between theory and practice regarding EU integration process and its Green Deal. 2.Modernize quality of Master programs in FHF, by using geo spatial data technology (GIS/RS) in real life problem solving. 3.Provide MA students with knowledge and skills in contemporary EU studies in the fields of Environment directives and PAs. 4.Encourage master students, institutions, media and researchers to be involved in the debate of Environmental, social and economic issues of Albanian and European PAs. In this Module we will use interactive teaching methods such as: Problem based learning, Project based learning, case studies, flipped classroom etc." |
