The Alberta Family and Senior Care Facilities Rehabilitation - Bundle 6 - Non-Remote Project (the Project) includes the following project scope located in various Alberta locations: • Suite renewals at 20 sites that include the improvement of accessibility via the installation of bathroom rails, widening doorways and hallways, and replacement of cabinets where applicable to increase safety and user comfort. Other improvements include replacement of bathroom, bedroom and living/kitchen fixtures and finishes as required which could also cover replacing sinks, countertops, cabinets, shower stalls, toilets, lights, flooring and repainting the suite; • Rehabilitation of building exteriors at 16 sites which includes the replacement of windows, doors, soffits, decks and the building envelope (such as a waterproof membrane, siding or parging); • Fire alarm system replacements at four sites; • Security system upgrades, including exterior lighting and the addition of video surveillance capabilities at one site; • Interior plumbing replacements which include the replacement of domestic water lines at 2 site; • Interior rehabilitations at 11 sites which include the replacement of fixtures and finishes in all resident units and/or common areas. These rehabilitations are unlike suite renewals since suite renewals are suite specific, and not building wide. Work also includes remediation of mold as well as the replacement of common area floors, doors and cooling; • Mechanical rehabilitation at 18 sites which include replacement of boilers, furnaces, and other heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to meet current safety standards and codes; • Electrical rehabilitation including the replacement of aging electrical panels and wires at 5 sites; • Roof replacement including shingles, eavestroughs, and downspouts at 13 sites; and • Nurse call system replacement at 2 sites. As per the November 30, 2023 project change, the description will be modified to account for modifications to the numbers of facility rehabilitation works.
