Alberta to British Columbia Oil Pipeline

A new oil pipeline proposal jointly submitted by the Alberta government and the Carney government to the federal Major Projects Office. The pipeline would run from Alberta's oilsands to the British Columbia coast, aimed at exporting oil to energy-hungry Asian markets. The project is to be developed and operated by the Trans Mountain Corporation (federal government owned) and the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (provincial Crown corporation), with Pembina Pipeline holding a 10% stake during construction. The project cost is estimated between $35.2 billion to $43.7 billion, mostly funded by taxpayers due to lack of private investment under current regulatory conditions.
