A new one-million barrel-a-day oil pipeline from Alberta to the West Coast of British Columbia is being proposed. The Alberta government plans to submit the proposal to the federal Major Projects Office by the end of June, exploring five different routes and working with major oilsands companies as advisors. The United Conservative Party government has pledged $14 million to prepare the proposal and act as the initial proponent, aiming for private sector takeover after approvals.
