Albita - Leuseni Cross Border Infrastructure RO-MD

The project involves interventions in the Albita - Leuseni cross-border point (BCP) between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. More specifically, the project will upgrade the access road to the BCP and will modernise the BCP itself on the Moldovan territory, while it will also improve the management of traffic flows on the Romanian territory by relocating the Albita Weighing Agency in the vicinity of the treatment station of the customs office and procuring and installing equipment in the BCP. By enhancing its infrastructure capacity and improving its functionality the Albita – Leuseni BCP will ensure a proper flow on the TEN-T network in this area helping passenger and freight mobility. The BCP plays an important role in humanitarian aid, economic development, and the EU-UA solidarity lanes and therefore interoperability and efficiency of the border crossing services will contribute directly to these objectives.
