Description | The City of Albuquerque operates an eco-friendly Christmas tree recycling program called "treecycling" that has been running for about a decade. The program collects real Christmas trees from residents, which are then ground into mulch chips by PNM Vegetation Management crews and Parks and Recreation staff. This process helps divert organic waste from landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing free mulch to the community. The program runs annually from December 29 to January 11 at multiple drop-off locations in Albuquerque. |
