Alert Act Aviation Safety Bill

planned

A revised version of the House's aviation safety bill, known as the Alert Act, aims to require all aircraft flying around busy airports to have key locator systems to allow pilots to know more precisely where other traffic is flying. The bill addresses recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and requires planes to have Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast In systems to receive data about the locations of other aircraft, which would have helped prevent a midair collision near Washington, D.C. in 2025.
