Alexander First Nation Elders Lodge Deep Energy Retrofit

Alexander First Nation is seeking funding to complete a deep energy retrofit to the Community Elders Lodge. Currently, the Elders Lodge is in dire need of energy efficiency upgrades that will improve the overall energy profile of the facility, while also adding much-needed functionality to the most high-need population in Alexander First Nation. This project will provide the Elders within Alexander with a safer, more comfortable, and more environmentally friendly space that will facilitate a much-needed improvement to the quality of life of the Nation’s most respected and admired group. The building itself will see upgrades to the building envelope, HVAC system, and electrical that will look to install high-efficiency boilers, LED lighting, demand control ventilation, air balancing, and advanced controls. This will create a more efficient, and more vibrant place for the Elders to live, giving them dignity in their home.
