Description
Description | Bilgin Enerji [Turkey] implemented the 90MW Aliaga Wind Energy Power Plant project, near Bergama in Izmir province. The project was developed on a greenfield, merchant basis. The project received its generation license from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) on July 17, 2008. Electricity generated by the wind farm was to be delivered to the Turkish national grid. The facility was to generate up to 300 GWh of clean electricity annually and supply 150,000 households. Financial closure was reached in September 2008 with the signing of a EUR110 million (US$161.7 million) loan agreement between Bilgin Enerji and local bank Yapi Kredi. The total project cost was not available as of end 2009. The Aliaga project, considered as the largest in the country at the time of financial closure, was to comprise 36 Nordex wind turbines of the N90/2500 type, for which an equipment supply contract was signed in June 2009. Construction was expected to start in the winter of 2009 and the project was to be fully operational by May 2010. Total investment was ESTIMATED at 90 MW x 1.8 million per mw (average for ECA), is $162 million. |
