The ALIEM project partners, grouped in a formalized network whose agreement is attached to the dossier, wish to continue the actions undertaken in the 2017-2020 period on the basis of the results obtained with the creation of an operational platform which constitutes the structure of an active network, and with the elaboration of a cross-border strategic plan (PST) for the control of alien species. Two main objectives have been set for this second phase of the project: 1) consolidate and strengthen the established network by equipping it with intelligent and effective warning tools that identify the bodies and people who must be informed in the event of the onset or evolution of a threat from invasive species; 2. carry out preventive, management or curative pilot actions in individual regions and at cross-border level in application of the PST to demonstrate the effectiveness of the recommended measures and obtain evaluated results that allow the PST to be re-adapted to new situations or to those that are identified in the implementation of these actions. The group of partners remains consistent, in the sense that 7 partners will be full participants in the steering committee and two others will participate in agreement (UNIGE and ARPAS) with one of the direct partners (ARPAL and UNISS). The focus on network consolidation and the implementation of pilot actions, which will be evaluated, will provide a new dynamic for the coordinated fight against the omnipresent and multiform threats throughout the cross-border territory. The presence/participation of 3 bodies of regional competence is a concrete start for an institutional agreement supported by the scientific contribution of 3 universities collaborating on the project. The network will be consolidated on the basis of the development of smart tools and pilot activities.
