Information North Central Railway [NCR] - II has come up with Allahabad division - Construction of Aligarh Flyover with a ticket size of 1179.27 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project At Aligarh Jn. Station of Allahabad division a branch line Bareli [BE] - Aligarh [ALJN] terminates. There are two unit of thermal power plant at Harduaganj, being served by Harduaganj [HGJ] Rly station on this line. Two cement plants are also situated in this section. There is an expansion plan of Harduaganj power plant for which work is in progress. The trains coming from HWH side and going to HGJ/BE crosses DN main line of HWH-NDLS route, which is very busy and carrying more than 150percentage traffic than the line capacity. Due to above heavy traffic, there is no path available for surface crossing of loaded goods trains coming from HWH side and going to BE. This results into heavy detention of trains at ALJN as well as Harduaganj station. To smoothen the train operation and improvement of punctuality as well as Wagon turn round, this surface crossing is proposed to be eliminated by construction of flyover connecting ALJN to HGJ, which will also result into doubling of ALJN-HGJ section.
