Description | "This project involves the Phase 1 of the expansion of the internet access network in Maranhão and Pará states, Brazil. The sponsor for this initiative is the Brazilian company Alloha Fibra, the fourth largest company in terms of subscribers and fiber optic extensions in the country. The sponsor will expand the fixed broadband services in 18 municipalities in Maranhão and 9 municipalities in Pará with around 500 thousand inhabitants. The total project cost is $27m (R$148m) and it was secured with a loan from the Telecommunications Services Universalization Fund (FUST) of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). The financial close date is August 12th, 2024.
