Cleanup efforts involved removing 81 million pounds of debris, nearly 3,500 truckloads, and are nearing completion. The demolition was completed six months ahead of schedule, clearing 2.5 acres of land for reuse in national security missions. The next step includes reducing 800,000 pounds of lead removed from the site and packaging it for specialized offsite shipment, expected to begin in June 2026. |
