Description

Description

National Alternative Dispute Resolution Convention 2024 We are a consortium of four ADR entities: Huurcommissie (Rent Tribunal ) SGC (Foundation for Consumer Complaints Committee) Kifid (Netherlands Financial Services Complaints Tribunal) SKGZ (Health Insurance Complaints and Disputes Board) The SKGZ will be the coordinator for request for the EU grant, In 2019 the Dutch ADR entities did organize in mutual cooperation the first national ADR-convention. It was a huge success! The second national ADR-convention, first planned in 2021, was replanned due to corona as an digital convention to the 31st of march. 2022. In 2024 we will again organize a national ADRconvention. We aim at a physical convention, because this is a provisio for really meeting each other and will boost the cooperation. We will invite the employees and members of the various arbitration committees. The focus will not be exclusively internal: People from outside the ADR entities will be invited also, for example people from the judiciary and politicians. In this way we will raise awareness on consumer ADR. Due to the fact that the convention is Dutch spoken, the cross-border contacts will be limited to the employees of the Flemish ombudsmen service. Number of visitors: max 450. Estimated number of visitors 300 Duration: one day, 18 months of preparation, 5 months completion Proposed date: march or April 2024 The aims of the Convention will be: Sharing knowledge of ADR-techniques. - Exchange of current best practices of ADR, in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe - Improving/training of ADR-techniques - Sharing and learning about new developments in law, with an emphasis on legal protection of consumers - Strengthen the binding and cooperation (between the employees) of the four ADR- entities in the Netherlands including members of the various arbitrational committees and the Flemisch Ombudsmen - Raising awareness on consumer ADR
