EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This program seeks to engage U.S. government funded exchange program alumni to promote peace and security , economic empowerment, health, and rule of law including combating corruption, through a speaker series, community service projects, and mentorship programs. The program will also strengthen county alumni chapters. The implementing partner will call on alumni to join the speaker series and develop mentorship programs in locations where the Embassy has American Spaces - Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Lamu and Kisumu. The selected partner will also launch a competition among U.S. government alumni to carry our community service projects along the Kenyan coast. The implementing partner will fund the top 5 to 10 projects in consultation with the Embassy. The Embassy will work closely with the partner towards outreach, recruitment, application, and selection phases for the speakers. The partner organization in close coordination with the Embassy, will be responsible for organizing speakers for at least 20 programs at the American Spaces, recruiting the audience, and facilitating meetings of alumni in at least 20 counties to form County Chapters. Programs should seek gender balance in their audiences. A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The U.S. Embassy Nairobi announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to design and implement alumni speaker, networking series, formation of county chapters, community service projects and mentorship programs for U.S. government exchange program alumni in Kenya. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Priority Region: Kenya (All 47 Counties) Program Objectives: Develop an Alumni speaker series in support of: peace and security , economic empowerment, health, and rule of law – at least 20 . Support the formation of County Chapters in at least 20 counties including the use of technology to facilitate communication and collaboration among alumni. Promote peace and security, economic empowerment, and rule of law through alumni driven community service projects – min of 5 max of 10 projects. Develop alumni-led mentorship programs for vulnerable youth – ages 13 to 25 – at each American Space. Utilize American Spaces and expand target audiences. Utilize technology at American Spaces to connect audiences across Kenya.
