Description

Description

AM Green's flagship green ammonia complex in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India, is India's first commercial scale green ammonia and green hydrogen production facility. The project involves repurposing the former Nagarjuna Fertilizers grey ammonia and urea complex, located on a 495-acre industrial site at the Kakinada deep-water port. The facility is being built in phases to reach world scale capacity, with Phase 1 delivering 0.5 million tpy of green ammonia by late 2027 and progressing toward 1 million tpy in later phases. Hydrogen production will be supported by 1.28 GW of pressurised alkaline electrolysers supplied by John Cockerill, and ammonia synthesis trains refurbished by Casale and Rely. The project integrates renewable power from hybrid wind, solar, and pumped hydro storage to ensure round-the-clock carbon-free power supply.
