Description | The Amata B Grimm Power plant is a 132.5 MW gas-fired combined cycle co-generation power plant in the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Chon Buri, Thailand. Amata B Grimm Power 3, a joint venture between Thai firms B. Grimm Energy and Amata Corp, was the project company created to implement the project. The plant was to supply 90MW of electricity to the state-owned Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under a 25-year Small Power Producer (SPP) power purchasing agreement with the Commercial Operation Date (COD) set for 1st September 2012. The remaining 42MW, and 30tons per hour of steam was to be sold to Sumitomo Corporation for its rubber factory within the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate. Japan's Sumitomo Corporation also owns a 30% stake in the project sponsor Amata Power. Total projects costs were estimated to be US$ 156.151 million. Financing was closed in July 2010. Financing comprised of Thai Baht 2.704 billion (US$ 88.54 million) 20-year term loan, a $41.8 million 20-year term loan, a Thai Baht 300m (US$ 9.83 million) 20-year credit facility and a THai Baht 720 million (US$ 23.56 million) 25-year credit facilty debt. In July 2013, additional investment of US$310 million was made for the expansion of the capacity of the plant. |
