Description | The Fort Pierce City Commission approved a major site plan amendment for a new Amazon distribution center located at 2300 South Kings Highway. The facility will be 1.1 million square feet including a refrigerated warehouse and office space on nearly 70 acres. The project is expected to create approximately 745 permanent jobs and represents a $240 million investment in the city's infrastructure and tax base. The developer, Scannell Properties, plans a second phase adding 500,000 square feet and 500 additional jobs. Construction is estimated to take about two years, with shell completion targeted for September 2027 and final occupancy by March 2028. The developer is funding $4.2 million in road improvements including reconstruction of White Road and installation of a new traffic signal. |
