This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project ? Amelia Coal Mine located in District Singraulli of Madhya Pradesh was allotted to THDCIL in January 2017 to meet fuel requirement of 1320 MW Khurja STPP. ? CCEA accorded Investment approval for Amelia Coal Mine at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,587.16 Cr. [Dec-17 PL] on 07.03.19. ? Net Geological Reserve in Amelia Coal Mine is 162.05 Million Ton [OC] out of this Extractable Coal Reserve is 139.48 Million Ton. ? Total Peak Rated Capacity [PRC] of Amelia Coal Mine is 5.6 MTPA to meet out the fuel requirement of 2x660 MW Khurja STPP. ? Quality of Coal [Gross Calorific Value] - Average GCV Seam-VIII - 3785.90 K.Cal/Kg & Seam-VII - 4766.50 K.Cal/Kg. ? Amelia OCP is proposed to be worked by shovel-dumper combination for OB removal and coal is proposed to be extracted by Surface Miners by windrowing method and transported by 60T rear dumpers to reclaim feeder for onward transportation to Railway siding through series of surface conveyor belts. ? All necessary clearances FC, EC, Mining Lease, CTE, Mine Opening permission etc. accorded except CTO. ? Mine opened on 17.11.2022. Coal extraction to start from Feb-23. 40 percentage expenditure in Coal evacuation corridor to be made subsequently.
