Description | The American GreenFuels plant in New Haven, originally opened in 2011 as Greenleaf Biofuels and later acquired by Kolmar Group, has undergone rapid expansions to become the largest producer of biodiesel on the East Coast. The plant processes used cooking oil and other recycled products to produce biodiesel, a climate-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. The most recent expansion, completed in summer 2025, added a second story to the production floor, increasing production capacity to nearly 60 million gallons per year. |
