Description

Description

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) have each implemented vouchers for several DOE-funded programs, namely American-Made Challenges (AMC), the Incubator Program, and the Small Business Vouchers Program. NREL has served as the lead lab for these programs and understands what works well and also the challenges and opportunities for improvement. In addition, NREL and Sandia have demonstrated a strong partnership through the American-Made Challenges program. Both labs will build on their teaming and experiences to develop an integrated and streamlined voucher program called VELOCITI. This new program will leverage the successful elements of past programs, create administrative efficiencies and enable the buildout of a national program to drive strong relationships between entrepreneurs and the national labs to accelerate innovation in the US solar sector. The Voucher Funds program covers the voucher programs that will be run under this program, the number of vouchers per program, and the funding amount for vouchers in each program.
