American Royal Association facility

The American Royal Association is planning to build a facility on a site in Kansas City, Kan., bounded by 110th Street, 118th Street, Parallel Parkway and State Avenue. It will include: a 164,000-sq-ft livestock expo arena with approximately 5,000 permanent seats and an additional 3,200 temporary seats for a variety of events, including livestock exhibitions and rodeos; a 250,000-sq-ft livestock exhibition hall, including pens for approximately 2,000 animals for events; 5,000 sq ft of office space; and a 6,500-sq-ft agricultural education center that includes an agricultural museum with indoor and outdoor exhibits. This new facility will replace the existing facility located in the West Bottoms section of Kansas City, Mo., since 1899, which had long been home to the Kansas City Stockyards.
