Ammonia Import Terminal at Blumensand Tank Terminal

MB Energy received a permit to build and operate a new ammonia import terminal at the Blumensand tank terminal site in the Port of Hamburg. The terminal will be Germany's first large-scale ammonia import hub, supporting future energy supply and the transformation of the economy. It will handle ammonia for import and redistribution, serving as a storage medium for hydrogen and as an alternative fuel in shipping. The terminal will include a new tank for temporary ammonia storage, upgraded berths for vessels, and loading facilities for railcars. It is part of the New Energy Gate Project and aims to process an estimated 600,000 metric tonnes of ammonia per year.
