Description | Expansion Ammunition is planning to establish an ammunition manufacturing plant on a 170-acre site at the TexAmericas Center East Campus in Hooks. The phased project scope includes renovation of the former Lone Star Army ammunition plant. It will also entail construction of additional building space; and purchase and installation of punch presses, conveyors and chemical storage, blending, annealing, washing, filling, inspection and packaging equipment. Initial operations at the site are expected to begin by the end of the first quarter of 2022. The plant is expected to be fully operational by 2023. |
