Description | ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India will build an integrated steel plant near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of about ₹70,000 crore in the first phase. The plant will have a capacity of 8.2 million tonnes per annum and include upstream and downstream facilities to support ancillary industries and strengthen the manufacturing value chain. The project includes laying 267 km of slurry pipelines for iron ore transport under an agreement with NMDC Ltd. Initial units are expected operational by end-2028 or early-2029, with near-full commissioning by 2030. |
