Amplifying Liberal Youth Voices In The New European Mandate - LYMEC4EU

The European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) gathers and mobilises liberal youth from across Europe to raise awareness of and discuss EU-related policies, including the EU Youth Strategy and the European Youth Goals. We focus on sharing best practices from experience across different Member States and propose initiatives and policy reforms directly to decision-makers in the European Parliament. We organise Congresses where we adopt policy proposals, resolutions and positions. We also hold workshops, seminars, and training sessions to improve our members' skills and general knowledge. The organisation comprises member organisations (59) and individual members (over 100) from around 40 European countries and brings together a total number of about 150,000 young people from all over Europe. We expect that the LYMEC4EU operating programme will enable, this year again, further debate and dialogue between youth from all parts of Europe. In 2025, as a follow-up to our 2024 programme, we will work to ensure widespread participation from young people in key elections across Europe, aiming that they are represented at every level of governance to become decision-makers. Beyond structural dialogue between EU institutions and youth organisations, our goal is to empower young people by amplifying their voices and helping them develop new skills and competence to be active on the political scene. As an outcome of the grant in 2025, we aim to advocate for our key proposals of the LYMEC4EU 2025 plan to the renewed institutions and decision-makers to ensure the voice of the liberal youth resonates in the new European mandate. We will organise around 20 activities (including 2 Congresses, 2 Digital Assemblies, 4 Policy Debates, 7 Board meetings and training sessions), during which we will adopt positions, develop new skills by training our members, draft calls for action, create publications and foster cooperation between members by bonding engaged youth on our continent.
