Description | The Ampol Addressing Blackspots Fast Charging project will leverage its branded retail network nationally to deliver over 100 fast charging stations across four regions in Australia. The Ampol Addressing Blackspots Fast Charging project acknowledges that the Australian electric vehicle (EV) industry is in the early stages of development. In cities and regional centres, charging blackspots (areas that do not have convenient access to public fast-charging stations) are an issue.Expanding the charging network will help to alleviate common barriers raised by consumers, namely the lack of publicly available fast charging infrastructure and range anxiety. Ampol’s sites are ideally located close to major metropolitan and regional roads infrastructure, linking both satellite cities and broader geographies.Ampol’s approach through this project demonstrates confidence in the future in which electric vehicles, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), will play in decarbonising the transport sector. |
