In order to make the energy transition possible, more and more employees with the right competences are needed. These are especially technical professions in which there has been a tightness on both sides of the border for years. Labour shortages are seen as one of the biggest threats to the timely realisation of the energy transition. Cross-border cooperation to develop the right skills for the energy transition AMV ELC – demand-driven Energy Learning Community – is therefore setting up a collaboration aimed at the realisation of a range of tools so that educational institutions and governments are supported in the provision of appropriate training and companies find more and relevant trained workforce. In addition, a strong educational base is laid by the realisation of an overview of the available education (materials), to develop new educational material for training the trainer and to enable education across borders with Remote Labs for experimentation setups. Potential workers are also directed towards training courses that focus specifically on the energy sector. In this way, people with the necessary competences are trained, the mismatch between labour demand and labour supply is eliminated and the border region is prepared for the energy transition.
