Description

The project involves the development, construction and operation of 106.5 MWp Andalusia II solar plant in the state of Coahuila de Zaragoza, and the 37.7 MWp Aguascalientes Sur I solar park in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. These plants are awarded within the framework of the second renewable energy auction in Mexico for 2016. They have 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and a 20-year Clean Energy Certificates (CELs). The projects cost is $ 86 million. The sponsor OPDEnergy invested $ 62 million in both projects. Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) provided $ 24 million. Financial close was announced on 26 September 2019. On June 2, 2020, an agreement between OPDEnergy and Riverstone was signed. The second will acquire a 80 % stake in the project. No financial information about the structure of the deal is available.
