This work programme describes the actions ANEC plans to pursue in 2026. It reflects the mission of ANEC to voice the collective European consumer interest in a continuum of consumer protection and welfare that runs from policy and legislation, to standardisation, conformity assessment, accreditation, market surveillance and enforcement. It takes into special account the recognition of ANEC under Annex III to Regulation (EU) 1025/2012 as the European organisation representing consumers in European standardisation activities; the High-Level Forum on Standardisation and its work streams; the Annual Union Work Programme for European standardisation and EU Strategy on Standardisation of 2 February 2022 (COM(2022) 31 final). Moreover, it aims to take into account the Competitiveness Compass - including the revision of Regulation (EU) 1025, Omnibus Simplification and continuation of Better Regulation. It also anticipates the revision of Regulation (EU) 1025/2012 as part of a review of broader legislation regarding the Single Market, encompassing the New Legislative Framework and rules of Market Surveillance, and the development of the new Consumer Agenda.
