Description | The Peruvian company Generadora de Energia del Peru S.A (Gepsa Energia) announced the development of the Angel II hydroelectric power plant located in the Chiamayo river, Carabaya province, Peru (19.9 MW in capacity). In November 2011, the Ministerio de Energia y Minas (MEM) awarded to Generadora de Energia del Peru S.A a final generation concession contract. The investment was estimated at US$ 21.5 million. In March 2010, the company was awarded a power purchase agreement to supply electricity to the grid for US$ 0,06/kWh. The construction works started in January 2016 and were in advanced stage as of June 2016. Commercial operations were scheduled to commence in December 2017. |
