Description
Description | The proposed project concerns a grant of UA 398 478 to the Republic of Angola from the resources of the Technical Assistance Fund for Middle Income Countries (TAF-MIC), in support of planning for the development of higher education and scientific research. The project forms part of the strategic objective of developing human capital and creating the skills the country needs to diversify its economy and achieve inclusive growth. The project is structured around the following two components, in addition to the project management component planned, in particular, for carrying out the audit of the project accounts: (i) analysis of the costs and financing of higher education; (ii) analysis of the involvement of the private sector in higher education and research. The above-mentioned studies will consolidate the efforts of the Angolan authorities to improve the skills of young people, promote innovation, entrepreneurship and the competitiveness of the economy. It will help to lay the foundations for a sustainable development process, by supporting the diversification of sources of growth in Angola, in order to create jobs. In addition, the completion of these two studies contributes to the creation of knowledge about the country, which is one of the important strategic objectives of the FAT-PRI. The TAF-IRP resources will be used to provide the consultancy services needed to produce the expected products and to carry out an audit of the project. Project activities are scheduled to last 12 months. |
