Angola - Support to the Socio-economic Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups in Angola

The Project to Support the Socio-economic Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups and Refugees (PARG) is part of the post-conflict rehabilitation and reconstruction effort, towards the goals set out in the interim Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (I-PRSP) issued by the Government. The project is designed to contribute to poverty reduction by providing vocational training for the segments most affected by the war. It focuses on municipalities and rural communes situated in the northern part of Huambo Province, which have been ravaged by war for long periods and also host large numbers of displaced persons (DP), demobilized combatants and vulnerable persons. In that regard, the project activities are such as would appreciably improve the living conditions of these populations, build the capacities of the communities and services managing reintegration programmes and thereby aid rapid socio economic re-settlement of the various segments in their home communities.
