Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing Sewage Lagoon

The project will construct a new aerated sewage lagoon to replace the existing wastewater treatment plant in the Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing First Nation in Ontario. The work will include the installation of a SAGR system and HDPE liner, clearing and preparing an undeveloped site for the lagoon, excavating trenches for collection pipes, building an access road, constructing the lagoon and its required components, installing new gravity sewers and force mains, and upgrading the existing lift station. The existing wastewater treatment plant will also be decommissioned and deconstructed. The project will ensure there is sufficient capacity to meet the community’s wastewater needs, build redundancy into the wastewater treatment system and eliminate the release of improperly treated effluent through the community and into the environment.
