Description | Bayindir was awarded the contract to build, own and operate a passenger terminal in Antalya Airport in 1996. Construction works lasted 20 months and Bayindir started operating the terminal in Mar. 1998. A total of US$ 85 million was invested in constructing the facility, which has an area of 56,000 square meters and can handle 22 airplanes at a time (4,000 passengers per hour). The total capacity amounts to 12 million passengers per year. In 1999, Flughafen Frankfurt (Fraport AG) acquired a 50% stake in the project company from Bayindir. The project was expected to last 10 years: 20 months for construction and 8 years for operation of the facility.
